Rhinophyma

Rhinophyma presents as a bulbous thickening of the skin of the nose, with nodules and pustules.  Although these changes can rarely affect areas of the face other than the nose, they are much more common on the nose, and far more common in men than women.  Most people with rhinophyma have the more classic form of rosacea as well; however, it can rarely occur as alone. Oral antibiotics are frequently required to control the symptoms of rhinophyma, as well as to control its progression.  Often, destructive laser or surgical modalities are required to treat rhinophyma by removing the excess skin and glandular tissue
